All that black liberation theology wants is “freedom” and “justice” for the oppressed, and they turn to Scripture for support. Black poverty, for example, is attributed to injustice, not personal responsibility, such as laziness. Authentic “love” is not a helping hand or giving to those in need, but a redistribution of power (i.e. wealth) that empowers blacks. Rather, “love” enables the oppressed to seek and achieve social and economic freedom and justice. The Right Wing Reverend detects Marxist philosophy, not Christian principles, in this way of thinking. He then explains the sad consequences of this approach.
